Celly Charts ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website cellycharts.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Service. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially minors who participate in youth hockey.

2a. Publicly Available Game Data
We collect publicly available youth hockey game data from league and association websites and official scoring platforms. This data may include:
- Player first and last names
- Jersey numbers
- Game statistics (goals, assists, saves, penalties, etc.)
- Team names and rosters
- Game scores and schedules
We do not collect or display birthdates, home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, school information, or any other personally identifiable contact information of players through our data collection processes.
2b. Information You Provide
If you contact us or submit a data correction request, we may collect your name and email address for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
2c. Automatically Collected Information
When you visit the Service, we may automatically collect standard usage data through Google Analytics, including pages visited, time spent on pages, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location (city/region level). This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to individual player profiles.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate team rankings and player statistics leaderboards
- Display player profiles with game-by-game performance data
- Provide head-to-head team and player comparisons
- Display interactive playoff brackets
- Improve and optimize the Service
- Respond to user inquiries and data correction requests
4. Data Sources
All player and team statistics displayed on Celly Charts are sourced from publicly available game records published by leagues, associations, and official scoring platforms. We also accept verified data submissions from authorized team managers.
Players cannot self-report statistics. All data must come from official game records or verified team manager uploads to ensure accuracy and integrity.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We take children's privacy seriously. The game statistics displayed on our Service are sourced entirely from publicly available records and do not require any information to be collected directly from children.
Profile Claiming (Future Feature): We plan to offer a profile claiming feature that will allow players to verify and customize their profiles. When this feature launches:
- Users aged 13 and older will be able to claim their profile through an email verification process.
- For users under 13, profile claiming will require verifiable parental consent in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on behalf of the child.
- We will not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

We use the following cookies and similar technologies:

Player statistics and game data are retained for the duration of each hockey season and may be archived for historical comparison purposes.

The Service is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase) with encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
